He currently has 23 camels on his farm near Asheville, NC, a mix of humped dromedaries and double-humped Bactrians that are milked by hand—no crouching or seat needed. The creatures' milk has less cholesterol than cow's milk, and it's got more protein, vitamin C, and iron, per scientific studies, the Citizen-Times reports. And "the milk is tasty," says King, who describes the dromedaries' milk as the saltier and creamier of the two. What's more, the milk is also expensive, potentially at least $18 a pint. It's often raw as well; King says he's still testing pasteurization methods.

IN THE NEWS: Perms and hair dyes linked to concerning compounds

Published June 11, 2014 In a new study, hairdressers who often used light colored hair dyes or hair-waving products on clients had more potentially cancer-causing compounds in their blood than hairdressers who used the chemicals less frequently. The study included hairdressers as well as women who used hair dyes on themselves and some who had never used them at all, and none of the women had actually been diagnosed with cancer. The World Health Organization considers hairdressing work probably carcinogenic, since hairdressers tend to be at higher risk for bladder cancer. The new results could help narrow down specifically where the cancer-causing agents are coming from.

CONDITION OF THE WEEK: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most expensive of all work-related injuries. Over his or her lifetime, a carpal tunnel patient loses about $30,000 in medical bills and time absent from work. Chiropractic adjustments, stretching and strengthening exercises, soft-tissue mobilization techniques, and even acupuncture can be helpful.

FUNNY BONE:   This week the FCC rolled out a new service that lets people text 911 for help. That'll mean if you're driving and you see an accident, you can cause another accident.
