IN THE NEWS: Cancer and the New Biology of Water  In “Cancer and the New Biology of Water,” Dr. Thomas Cowan explains why cancer is not a problem of oncogenes (a gene which in certain circumstances can transform a cell into a tumor cell) but rather a problem involving the cytoplasm — the structured water — of the cell. Mitochondrial defects are an integral part of the breakdown of the structure in the water, which then triggers the formation of cancer. "When you look at what the function of the mitochondria is — which is essentially to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP) — and you see what the role of ATP is and how integral ATP is to the structuring of the water in the cytoplasm, then you begin to see the connections between the mitochondrial dysfunction … [and the] deterioration of the cytoplasmic water that leads to cancer."Lifestyle strategies that will help restructure the water in your cells, thereby helping prevent cancer include eating a ketogenic diet and exposing your body to sunlight and near-infrared light such as near-infrared sauna. Other strategies include grounding to the earth by walking barefoot, posing yourself to the biofields of other biological entities, such as the touch of other humans and animals, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Mistletoe therapy stimulates your fever response.  It’s an immunostimulating medicine that also works like a chemo drug.

WELLNESS: 3 Biggest Heart Disease Risks, Cholesterol Isn't on the List  The most significant risk factors of cardiovascular disease are insulin resistance, Type 2 diabetes and chronic inflammation. The documentary “Heart of the Matter” exposes the saturated fat/cholesterol myths behind the statin fad and the financial links which lurk beneath. The research by physiologist Ancel Benjamin Keys establishing the saturated fat/cholesterol theory omitted results from 16 countries. Replacing saturated fats with double-bonded transfats is a health risk. Polyunsaturated, omega 6 fats oxidize and become rancid, causing inflammation. The worldwide success of dangerous and ineffective statins rests on poor science.

Humidity and your Health In the winter time humidity is a big issue.  As the weather turns colder and the heaters start working 24/7 then the indoor air will start drying out. Studies have shown that dry air has four main effects on the human body:    1. Breathing dry air is a potential health hazard which can cause such respiratory ailments as asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, and nosebleeds, or general dehydration since body fluids are depleted during respiration.   2. Skin moisture evaporation can cause skin irritations and eye itching.   3. Irritative effects, such as static electricity which causes mild shocks when metal is touched, are common when the air moisture is low.   4. The “apparent temperature” of the air is lower than what the thermometer indicates, and the body “feels” colder. As your body fights the dry air you start to use up your vitamin A stores.  This enhances the dry skin and sinus problems as well as weakens your immune system.  It is important that you have a humidity gauge in each bedroom and a cool mist humidifier to combat the dry air.  I recommend the ultrasonic humidifiers as they put the most water in the air.

FUNNY BONE: Getting Old  - You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks. - One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. - One must wait until evening to see how splendid the day has been. - Ahh, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable. - Old age is when former classmates are so gray and wrinkled and bald, they don't recognize you. - If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't have anything to laugh at when you are old. - First you forget names, then you forget faces. Then you forget to pull up your zipper, then...Oh, my goodness, you forgot to pull your zipper down! - If you jog in a jogging suit, lounge in lounging pajamas, and smoke in a smoking jacket, WHY would anyone want to wear a windbreaker??
